Dragonfruit Smoothie Bowl

Dragon fruit, also known as pitaya or pitahaya, gives a vibrant color to your smoothie bowl and provides a range of health benefits. Here's a simple and delicious recipe for a dragon fruit smoothie bowl:

  • Slice the dragon fruit in half. Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh from one half and set aside the other half to use as a serving bowl (optional).
  • In a blender, combine the dragon fruit flesh, frozen banana slices, frozen berries, coconut milk, chia seeds (if using), and sweetener (if using). Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk to achieve your desired consistency.
  • Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl (or the scooped-out dragon fruit skin for a more natural and eye-catching presentation).
  • Decorate with your choice of toppings. Granola adds a nice crunch, berries provide freshness, coconut flakes offer tropical flair, and nuts add texture and protein.
